Our Local Contractors

UEP is committed to developing and transferring skills to the local community.  As part of this commitment, the company has actively chosen to develop local contractors in its Badin and Mirpurkhas Khipro (MKK) concession blocks as opposed to awarding contracts through a tender process.

Local contractors are engaged to undertake preparation of well locations, access roads and supply skilled and/or unskilled manpower. They also supply unskilled local labour to the mechanical contractors engaged by UEP, for its exploration and production activities. Over time the local contract companies have grown in scale and skills. They have been encouraged to submit pre-qualifications for technical and mechanical services; some of our local contractors are now qualified mechanical contractors.

Our local contractors hire locally, thereby creating more employment opportunities within our concession districts.
